Posy, Flags and Wisteria

We visited a friend today and took our first Sweet Peas as a small posy.

It’s pleasing to see that the council are flying the flag for Ukraine. My heart goes out to Ukraine and her people.

Our beautiful Wisteria is nearing its end and is being battered by the wild winds we have at the moment. It has been quite magnificent and has been in flower for over three weeks.

Tulip, Plantain and Wisteria

We planted deep purple tulips to come up with the white ones. In fact, they came up later but they are fantastic and are surviving the wind and the rain.

Just outside Chacewater Village Hall, where I go for Pilates, there is a wild garden with Plantains in flower. I do love their delicate halo of whiteness.

On my way out of the village, stuck in traffic as usual, I was able to appreciate and photograph this amazingly beautiful Wisteria.

First Rose, Bumble Bee Bum and Tree Fern

1   Our climbing rose has just opened. I’m hoping that the Wisteria that you can see to the left, still in bud, will come into blue blooms to be a beautiful contrast to the roses.

2     Just look at the pollen sacs on this bee – so full and heavy, he could barely get from violet to violet.

3   At the weekend I had almost decided that our Tree Fern, new last year had not made it despite all the watering and loving attention I have given it. Three days of really warm sunshine and here are the new growths. My friend, John, said on Monday to be patient and he was right!
