A delightful day was had by all, half the family going into Truro for shopping and we, with LiveWire T, going into Redruth, enjoying the Welly Dogs, going to Home Ground coffee shop for a treat, playing in the park, chopping the tomatoes for the guacamole for supper and finally learning how to do French knitting.

Buttons, Tinners’ Hounds and Ferns
I discovered a new shop in town today, The Craft Collective, where most things have been made in Cornwall but not all – there were some gorgeous African buttons made by Thalia-Mai Nero.
I have shown you our Welly Dogs before but I love them so much, here they are again! Made by David Kemp, they are really called the Tinners’ Hounds and were fashioned from miners’ boots and then cast.
Walking home I found ferns on a wall, and a lone lost bloom on the path.
Fabric shop, Public Art and Decorating
1 Â Discovered the delights of a new fabric shop in Redruth this morning. Now I just need more hours in the day to do sewing projects as well!
2 Â Â In our main street are these wonderful Tinner’s Hounds, mostly well behaved but a couple got away to a nearby signpost!
3 Â Â Our lovely decorator came today and is transforming our doorways upstairs.
Radio 4, Redruth and the Present of a Pheasant
1 Â I just love Radio 4! Today, we’ve had the delightful David Attenborough on Desert Island Discs, the inimitable Samuel Pepys and his very entertaining Diary and this afternoon, John Steinbeck’s ‘The Pearl’ beautifully dramatised. Tomorrow we are promised Michael Morpurgo’s ‘Private Peaceful’. Brilliant!
2 Â We shopped in a very busy Redruth this afternoon, beautiful sunshine, a lovely busker and everything we needed. I am so glad we moved back to Cornwall and especially to Redruth! I just love David Kemp’s Tinners’ Hounds!
3  Lucy came home from her trek-training on Dartmoor on Monday with a ready jointed pheasant for us, sent by Brenda with whom she stayed over. I’ve cooked it in cider as Brenda suggested and used Delia Smith’s recipe serving it, as she suggests, with caramelised apples.Lucy took homemade marmalade and Cornish Daffodils.
