Singing, Compassion and Paul’s Peace Walk
Singing was particularly good today, uplifting on a grey day and afterwards just twelve singers in a brief rehearsal for a Humanist Wedding I am conducting on Monday. The small group sounded just wonderful and I think they will add something very special to the Ceremony. Singing together in harmony goes a long way to developing the heart……..
Paul, our friend who is walking for Peace from Rome to Jerusalem, has left for Rome today.
Here is another of the songs of Peace that we sang for him a couple of weeks ago. This one had me in tears! The words have never been so appropriate. If you read this Paul, we are all thinking of you and sending our love to you.
If you would like to know more about Paul’s Peace Walk please click the red link. He would love it if you could add a message of Peace for him to take along on his momentous walk.
Dalai Lama, New Gadget and Pancake Day
1 Our Redruth Chiropractor always has some inspiring words on the board in her window. I liked this one from the Dalai Lama. What a wonderfully wise man he is.
2 Another new gadget I bought the other day is this ergonomically wonderful lemon squeezer. I used it today and it is brilliant. For those who asked if the new Garlic Rocker was as efficient as it is beautiful… It is! It is so easy to use and very easy to clean – a winner in every way!
3 It’s Pancake Day, Shrove Tuesday, and, in the family tradition started dinner with Savoury Pancakes (stuffed today with chicken and peas in a Béchamel sauce) followed by Crêpes Suzettes – yummy! I can post the recipes if anyone would like me to.
Words, Martin Luther King Jnr and The Dalai Lama
As an English teacher, words matter to me! This display was in my classroom and given the potentially very disturbing news re Syria from our Government, one of the quotations, that by H.C.Longuet-Higgins, seems particularly apt.
On the 50th Anniversary of Martin Luther King Jnr’s ‘I have a dream’ speech, the Dalai Lama here pays tribute
