It’s been a glorious day, blue skies, sunshine and – no wind! Our Tulips open right up to the sun so here are a few of them.

I can’t tell you the names of any of them, sorry!
On this day in 1909, my Great Grandmother, Mary Elizabeth Wiseman, Suffragette, aged 53, was arrested in London having thrown stones to break windows. Subsequently she was imprisoned in Holloway, went on hunger strike, was force fed and was awarded the Suffragette Portcullis Brooch in recognition of her courage.
For some reason the following words came into my mind today and then I remembered that Pete Seeger gave the words some music.
I woke at 2am last night and found the glow of the moon filling the garden. I had my camera hand and, having missed the full moon because of thick cloud, caught this picture of an egg shaped moon. It’s interesting to think that the astronauts are away up there too!
My recipe called for half a head of garlic and I liked the pattern it made.
One of my birthday presents was a Camellia plant and this weekend it has started flowering. It’s beautiful! Thank you so much A&P!

We had tiny Easter eggs today, sitting in a clay egg-cup made my Daughter no 3 about 40 years ago!
No LiveWres around to decorate the little egg tree so I did it myself. (Thanks Ute for your lovely post that reminded me.)
Our Amanagowa Cherry Tree has started to blossom and is looking lovely in the evening sunshine..
Happy Easter to all my Dear Readers. Hope you can enjoy some sunshine.
Today’s market was great fun – very busy, with brilliant live music and beautifully decorated Easter bonnets at the cake stall. My coffee cake sold out quickly. 🙂
One of the many attractive stall was selling little replicas of our town’s Tinners’ Hounds. I was concerned about the artist but was reassured that he has given permission for the lovely little 3D printed versions.

If you look carefully, up the garden, you can see our Welly Dog original, as well as the delightful miniature
We froze Seville oranges in January so that we could make the marmalade when we had time. Today we have made several month’s worth!
I also made the coffee cake for tomorrow’s market, the first this year.
My lovely Mr S just managed to catch the woodpecker as it was leaving the feeders. I love this photo of the wings in flight.
Friends are on holiday. in a cabin in the woods and sent us this idyllic scene. Just look at the burbling stream and the many primroses..
We are just home from seeing a stunning film,Palestine 36.
“The film recounts the 1936–1939 Arab revolt against British colonial rule in Palestine during the Mandate period.”
How did I miss World Poetry Day?

Here is an absolute gem from Brian Bilston to celebrate.
I love the colour of the anemone blanda.
Such a lovely surprise today – Our eldest daughter came to visit – work problems last weekend meant she couldn’t be here for Mother’s Day so she’s been here today, brought lunch and cooked dinner. What a treat to have her company for the day.
