It rained! Actually it rained quite a lot and our very sad hydrangeas perked up. The flowers are still a little crisp but the leaves are mostly green again and not limp any more so we have hopes that they will recover properly. You can see them all looking much happier here. Sadly, several labels got lost some time ago.
We bought a beautiful blue hydrangea recently and planted it out just before the heatwaves. It suffered and we thought we had lost it but I dug it up, popped it back in a pot and kept it watered and it is looking the healthiest of the lot. We’ll plant it again in a week or two..

So good to get some rain, and to see that many of your plants are doing well! It’s similar here. Everything is looking happier now that it’s had some cooler weather and rain.

We really needed the rain and since I wrote that we’ve had more and even the brown grass is greening up.
I think we may have lost our acer, the leaves are brown and crisp which is very sad as it was a Ruby Wedding gift from our kids 19 years ago. I’ll keep hoping and caring for it until we know for sure….

Hopefully it’s still got some life in it and will come back!!

Thanks for visiting! I don’t know, it’s a normal WordPress blog so there should be a comment section at the bottom of each article. It’s all the way at the bottom below all the other comments.

It doesn’t take much water to liven things up. My ferns are much perkier now.

You are right, everything, almost, is looking better but our Acer is looking very sad.

Indeed! Everything has greened up, even the brown lawn has some green shoots. 🙂
