Raindrops and A Poem

19 Jun

We hear that there is a heatwave in the South East of the UK but here in the South West we have had grey, mizzly skies for days and the forecast is for more.  The resulting raindrops clinging to petals make for beautiful pictures.

I would not describe myself as a dog lover though I do enjoy watching them playing on the beach and friends have had a dog that I did love. This poem by Mary Oliver, “The Sweetness of Dogs”, reminds me of lovely Kaja and how she loved her people. The whole poem is so full of the beauty of the moon, of gentleness and shared love.

Looks like a bit warmer for you mid-week . . . then cooler again by next weekend. Hope you see some sun soon!

Yes, it looks as if we’re going to get some sunshine and warmth. I shall be quite happy with low 20s rather than the 30+ being promised for some! 🙂

This constant greyness (and up here I am actually in the cloud) is getting me down. I do hope it clears soon. The poem is lovely.

What I wouldn’t give for a hot day! Freezing today here in Johannesburg, and we have two more months before a hint of Spring.
    Your flowers are lovely.

Winters get harder as we get older I think. We need sunshine and warmth.:)

        Doesn’t it just!
Sunshine we get here… Plenty of it so we get all our Vitamin D… But it gets perishing cold. South African weather service reckons this will be the coldest weekend so far…
Hot toddies and hot water bottles!
At least the football is hot!
        , ⚽
        Have a super weekend. 😊

And now we are headed into another heatwave…….. Stay warm with your hot toddies!
Yes, the football is hot. We are loving it all. Our son-in-law is a sports cameraman and is there filming. I spend much time trying to spot him or his shots taken from his spot on the 6 yard line, left on screen!
It’s Father’s Day here and Daughter no 1 will be here soon so a lovely day in prospect.
Have a good day yourselves. 😊

Thank you… Yes, contrary to all the naysayers it is turning out to be a super World Cup. Mixed feelings about this ‘Hydration Break’ … 🤦 Otherwise it’s a cracking tournament.

Father’s day here too. Kids coming over and we’re having tiddy oggies for lunch. (My father was born in Newquay
so you will know what those are but you might have to explain to others!)
            😉

Have a fab Sunday in all that lovely sunshine… You lucky thing.
