These catkins were dancing around at the top of our Silver Birch.
I just fancied a Treacle Tart this afternoon so I made one.
After watering at the allotment this evening, I came up a different route and came across these gorgeous Spring flowers.

I’m afraid I cheat! Sainsbury’s make all our pastry and I just roll it out and pretty it up! It’s very good. 🙂

Oh, interesting! We can buy pre-made crusts marketed by Pillsbury. It’s OK, but not great.

I’ve never tasted treacle tart.
Is it like pecan pie? Shoofly pie?

I don’t know! There are no nuts so not like Pecan pie and I haven’t heard of the delightfully named Shoofly pie. Treacle Tart is just golden syrup with breadcrumbs and lemon zest in a sweet pastry crust but for this one I added some slices of stem ginger and some of the ginger syrup. I shall look uo Shoofly Pie. 🙂
