Peony, Sugarsnaps and A New Book

11 Jun

One Peony flower has survived the wild weather – it’s enormous, about 9″ across. There are still some buds to come. The first sugar snap peas were ready for tonight’s supper. They have the prettiest flowers too. I’ll show you another day.

Purple Magnolia Sugarsnap peas, five each!

A new book arrived today and we are delighted with it, bright illustrations, rhyme and rhythm, dinosaurs and best of all, a white Daddy and a black Mummy, just like our Grandbaby LiveWires! We can hardly wait until our next Skype story time with them. It hasn’t been easy to find such books for little people.

Out Sweetie tower blew down but we have managed to rescue it and a new plant for us, Ammi, growing to 4′ has also been blown badly. It has indeed been a wild and terrible wind!

Ah, yes, I grew Ammi Majus and Ammi Visgna 2 years ago and they were beautiful but not so great in the wind. Also my Cosmos Psyche were tall plants (1.20cm) and damaged by wind. Shorter plants are definitely a must here.

You’re right! Ammi Majus won’t be planted in our garden next year! WE chose it for its name as we had a voucher from one of our Granddaughters Ami. 🙂

A shame as it is very pretty, cow parsley is much tougher though!
