Carl Sandburg, Mist and Heroes

19 May

1   This beautiful little poem, ‘Fog’ by Carl Sandburg, which we both love, was on BBC Radio 4 today and brought back lots of lovely memories. What a fabulous metaphor.

The fog comes
on little cat feet.
It sits looking
over harbor and city
on silent haunches
and then moves on.
2   Coming home from a fabulous singing session tonight, heavy rain was falling onto hot roads and a fine mist was rising all along my route home. It was very beautiful and reminded me again of the poem we heard this morning.
3   Two very good friends have completed the Three Peaks Challenge over the weekend and have been raising funds for Prostate Cancer Research. How brilliant is that!?  Here they are at  Sunrise, 6am, Summit of Pen y Fan. Well done both of you. I am in awe!

Update 10/6/2014  Between them, they have raised just on £1000! That’s amazing! Well done again.
