Croissants, A Card and A Poem

On their last morning, the LiveWires made Croissants au Chocolat for everyone’s breakfasts.

This is the prettiest of all my lovely birthday cards, all made in ribbon and embroidery.

The fog hasn’t cleared all day and I was reminded of this charming little poem.

Fog by Carl Sandburg
The fog comes
on little cat feet.
It sits looking
over harbor and city
on silent haunches
and then moves on.

Carl Sandburg, Mist and Heroes

1   This beautiful little poem, ‘Fog’ by Carl Sandburg, which we both love, was on BBC Radio 4 today and brought back lots of lovely memories. What a fabulous metaphor.

The fog comes
on little cat feet.
It sits looking
over harbor and city
on silent haunches
and then moves on.
2   Coming home from a fabulous singing session tonight, heavy rain was falling onto hot roads and a fine mist was rising all along my route home. It was very beautiful and reminded me again of the poem we heard this morning.
3   Two very good friends have completed the Three Peaks Challenge over the weekend and have been raising funds for Prostate Cancer Research. How brilliant is that!?  Here they are at  Sunrise, 6am, Summit of Pen y Fan. Well done both of you. I am in awe!
