Carve – An Exhibition at 89 Redruth

Yesterday we went to another exhibition at the lovely small gallery in Redruth, 89. Last week I showed you a painted wooden snail, one of the teasers in the window before the exhibition opened.

The carvings were very beautiful but they were only part of the show. There were also paintings and quirky found objects so that the room was full of colour, of charm, of humour and ingenuity – a real pleasure to spend time there and to chat to the owner of the gallery. Here are a few photos but, if you are local, it’s really worth popping in. You’ll leave with a smile on your face. – such a variety of talent from the one anonymous artist.

Cornish Buses, Carving and A Pillowcase

Our buses have charming slogans on the back and today we saw a new one.

The car park in Camborne has delightful carving of local plants.

What a quiet day! Everyone has left and we have spent the day washing bedding and towels and missing everyone. Here is the pillowcase from the lovely ‘cats in sneakers’ bedding set we use for the LiveWires.

Fungi, Feather and Frolics

It was a beautiful frosty and very bright morning and we headed off early for a walk at Godrevy. Catch the waves with us, see the fungi as we walk around the headland and watch the seals in the bay. Click on photos to see the dew drop detail.
