Newlyn, Mousehole, Lamorna and Porthcurno

Come with us as we take my brother around this fascinating part of Cornwall. Click on any photo for detail. Mousehole, by the way, is pronounced Mowzle!
Here is the Newlyn gallery.

Mousehole was completely parked up so this one was taken from the moving car!

Lamorna Valley is one of my favourite places, just breathtakingly beautiful and the water in the cove so clear and lovely.

Porthcurno must be the most beautiful beach in Cornwall, completely unspoilt by anything commercial, soft golden sand and the clearest of aquamarine seas – and to cap it all, the beautiful Minack Theatre built into the cliffs.

Walking Holiday in Cornwall 3

This walk took them around the coast near the Minack Theatre, a fabulous amphitheatre cut into the rocks with the sea as a backdrop. Sometimes the audience are distracted by the antics of dolphins in the bay!

The Land’s End Cat, Macbeth at The Minack and A Patch of Blue Sky

1    We did the touristy thing today and showed P, my BIL from Poland, just a few of Cornwall’s treasures. We started at  Land’s End.

Near and Far – Land’s End with America across the water!

Beautiful Lichen at Land’s End

On our way to Porthcurno and The Minack Theatre, an amazing amphitheatre cut into the cliffs, we went through a little village with this sign at each end.

Take care – deaf cat in this village

2    There was a production of Macbeth going on so we could only watch from the top. What a magnificent backdrop for any play!

Just on the other side of the theatre is the beach of Porthcurno which must be one of the most beautiful and unspoiled anywhere.

3 Our next stop was the best ice-creams ever at Mount’s Bay overlooking St Michael’s Mount. On a day that had been mostly grey weather-wise (but lots of fun) this patch of blue sky appeared – magic!
