Gezelligheid, Chunky Cardigan and Baking

1   Gezelligheid is a Dutch noun meaning the comfort and cosiness of being at home, with friends, with loved ones or general togetherness – and I love it! It’s what we had at breakfast time yesterday morning.

2    The chunky cardigan that I knitted for Grand-baby N turned out to be too small but happily, we have another beautiful Grand-baby, B, who will love it!  We posted it off today and, as I did with the dinosaur parcel last week, I used some very old stamps bought and saved by my lovely Dad who died ten years ago. The people in the Post Office were brilliant and gave me some glue to stick them all on. That’s over £12 worth of stamps on both parcels so thanks Dad, for saving us that postage!  The bigger jacket for Grand-baby N is more than half done. I’m trying to finish it before the end of the month.

3   I have had fun baking Lemon Shortbread biscuits today and used the delightful biscuit stamps I bought in Granollers.

Garden Lunch, Wedding Etiquette and Kitchen Art

1   Such a beautiful warm day today, we had our lunch (home-made Guacamole and Melba toasts)  on the bench in the sun for the first time this year. Did some vertical gardening putting primroses into the Cornish wall near the new sun terrace.

2   Had a happy half hour with Daniel on Skype learning more about the quite complicated etiquette of a Senegalese Wedding.

3   I love this egg storage unit which to me is a piece of kitchen art. I think it is a Welsh spoon holder but it keeps our eggs perfectly!
