A good singing session with a new Helen Yeoman song to learn was just what I needed this morning as the Live Wires went off to Trebah Gardens to meet us later ready to go to Tehidy Woods for Rogue Theatre’s Wild Woodland Summer Ball. There, there is a winding walk through the misty woods where all sorts of entrancing things hint at the stories to come. T had her fabulous mask which she has been making over the last couple of days and J his ‘woodland walking’ stick so off we went……..

Baby Hat, Birthday Cake and Agapanthus
It was a wonderful morning with the choir, The Suitcase Singers and friends. We sang some beautiful ‘feel better’ songs, one of them a beauty by Helen Yeoman which she wrote in response to an atrocity by the Taliban in 2009. We need to feel the love and spread the love. The harmonies created are almost overwhelming.
It was Claire’s birthday so I had made her a delicious cake, Chocolate, Almond and Date Cake ( a new sugar free recipe apart from the chocolate drops that I added!)
One of Claire’s daughters was with us today having just returned from a month long school trip to Uganda where her school firm links with local schools. Before Saffron went, she and all the other pupils first fund raised both for the cost of the trip and to support the schools that they visit and each pupil collected a suitcase of donations, baby clothes, art materials, school supplies and games equipment. Among the things that we sent was one of my knitted baby hats and today Saffron gave me photos of the baby to whom it has been given. You can imagine my delight and the tears of joy!
The school kept a blog while they were away if you would like to read of their experiences click the red link. https://lander4uganda2016.wordpress.com/2016/07/03/day-2-molly-and-paul-foundation/
Singing Workshop, Tulips and Knitting
Today’s singing workshop was fabulous! Imagine spending a day with wonderful people, friends and singing teachers, learning new pieces to be sung in harmony all written by the lovely Helen Yeoman, sharing the most delicious lunch and coming away with such a sense of well-being all brought about by singing together. Just imagine! Well that was my day today and aren’t I just so lucky?
To cap the day off, I was given a beautiful bunch of purple tulips by a lovely friend – for just being a lovely friend! That was a very special moment. Thank you.
Last night I finished off a cosy scarf that I have been knitting for the lovely Mr S. Now the weather will probably turn warmer!
