Copper Beech, The Other Granny and Fish ‘n’Chips

1   Next door’s Copper Beech is in full leaf and with the sun shining through this morning looked absolutely glorious.

2    What a delightful afternoon I have had! Driving through wild-flower-filled lanes to Perranporth to meet Grandbaby B’s other Grandma, sitting together on the front in sunshine, chatting about this and that and collecting Brenda‘s knitted contribution to the Wool Against Weapons 7 mile long scarf! That now makes 9 pieces ready to sew together. Thank you!
A lovely afternoon with photos taken by Judy, someone kind enough to take our photos and who commented how lovely it was to be overhearing the conversation of two very happy people!

3    We bought fish ‘n’ chips in St Agnes this evening and took them up to the Beacon to watch as the sun slid into the sea. As we came home the full moon was rising just behind the garden.

Copper Beech, Mating Butterflies and Wind Whipped Flowers

1   The wild winds of yesterday shredded next door’s Copper Beech leaves and blasted them against our windows like a dark red confetti. Lit up by the sun this morning, the leaf shows all its beauty, its veining and furry edges that I’ve never seen before.  Click on the photo to see an enlargement and all the minute detail.

2    The sun was shining and the wind had dropped a little so I went for a walk to collect photos of all the wildflowers in the hedges. In a sheltered spot I saw these Green-Veined White butterflies mating. Clicking on this one will show you the furriness of these beautiful little butterflies.

3   It was difficult taking photos of flowers blowing in the wind but somehow this whirlwind photo worked out, much to my delight.

Copper Beech, Tree Peony and Porthleven

1    The buds on next door’s Copper Beech are almost ready to burst.

2   This Tree Peony that we found in a nursery in The Lizard has flowers of about 6″ across- quite remarkable and very beautiful.

3   Porthleven was a windy spot this afternoon but the sea in the harbour was such a beautiful colour.  It was less windy by the beach but it was still deserted.
