Barley, Raindrops and A Horse

31 Jul

A different route for our walk today took us past a beautiful golden field of ripe barley.

We’d been dodging showers while working in the garden before our walk and had no rain while walking but the evidence of showers was held in a spider’s web, lovely sparkly diamonds.

This horse came straight over to the gate as we went by so we stopped for a chat. We wondered about the ankle boots – any of you Dear Readers know what they are and what for?

And for a treat, Sting with Fields of Gold. I love this and hope you do too.

And our women have just won UEFA Women’s Euro 2022!

Your barley photo is fabulous. As for ankle boots, no idea!

Lucky you had some rain. We had some too – 5 minutes and then it dried up as fast as it came. At least we didn’t need to water that night. 🙂

There’s not much rain, certainly not enough but it’s very muggy and heavy feeling. We really could do with a storm and the garden would love it. 🙂

I think the boots are used to protect the horses hooves when they have a tendency to strike out against something like the fence in this case.

Thank you. That does make sense as there are none on the back legs. 🙂

Lovely photos! I assume the ankle boots are protective in some way…?

Wasn’t the match great! I don’t even like football but I was transfixed! 😁
