The lovely Mr S spotted this gorgeous little Shield Beetle on the new fence this morning and called me to take a photo .
We picked our first baby courgettes at the allotment to have in a risotto tonight.
I have always fancied cooking Stuffed Courgette Flowers so tonight, I looked up a recipe and made some. They were truly scrumptious. The first and only time we have eaten these was in a posh restaurant in Arizona!.
Tonight’s blog is dedicated to Larrick, the bravest and most positive person I know. It goes winging through the ether to him taking love from us and our Barcelona bunch.

Great capture of that little beetle! Glad to see you are stuffing your own courgettes!

Couldn’t remember the name of the restaurant where we first ate the flowers….. Not sure I’ll make a habit of stuffing the flowers – very tricky! 🙂

Be a while before my courgettes appear again,( winter almost upon us) but I will mention to my better half about stuffing the flowers. Looks delicious.
What did you stuff them with if I may ask?

I made a mix of cream cheese, squished garlic, some leftover fried shallot and lots of pepper. Then, rather than deep fry, I fried them in some garlic butter and they were amazing! You have to take out the hard stamen before stuffing. I googled how to do it but made up my own stuffing mix with what I had in. 🙂
