Sunshine, Celandine and Our Daffodils

26 Jan

The sun has been shining today, shafts coming through the vine next door and lighting up the leaves.

Sunshine on leaves

Our walk was lovely today, very cold on our faces but apricity on our backs and then the reverse on our way up from town.  Another shaft of sunlight lit up a Celandine along Lovers’ Lane.

We had Daffodils flowering in the front garden but the wild winds have beaten several of them to the ground so I cut them and brought them indoors to be appreciated.

I have published the next episode of Suffragette Diary . Here is the link

Sunshine and spring flowers bring rays of hope into the darkest days. Thank you.

Do your daffodils usually bloom in January? They’re beautiful!

The early ones do. We will have them in bloom from now until late March. Soon we will see fields full of beautiful yellow blooms as they are grown to sell. I love seeing them over the hedges and across the hills. 🙂

Wish the daffodils would bloom here soon. The sap in the maple trees is starting to move though, moving closer to maple syrup time!
