Just home from seeing a fascinating film, Derek v Derek.

The documentary about the two farmers both called Derek,  was made over three years and documents both their relationship and their opposing ideas of what to do with their land.  One is an intensive dairy farmer intent on having a neat, efficient farm and who is appalled at his neighbour’s attempts at making his farm into a safe haven for nature. There are wild boars who cross boundaries and root around on once pristine fields, beavers who do their thing too
The dialogue is very direct and funny – the audience laughs out loud and chuckles along.
The film is both thought provoking  and heartwarming. Do catch it if you can.
