We are having another few beautiful Summer Days as August draws to a close. This poem by Katy Lue called ‘Summer Days’ sums up the feeling today.
The air is alive on a summer day
it compliments the sweet aroma that weaves within,
The air is humid on a summer day,
it sticks to the world in such a way that the wind must shake it off,
The air sings on a summer day
it rises and falls with the melody’s sway,
The air is love on a summer day
it watches the lovers enjoying the weather and wonders itself ‘What could be better?’
The air surrounds on a summer day
it surrounds all and loves all and is the foundation to such a sweet summer day.
Then, this evening the lovely Mr S made me a pretty Pimms.

Your summer poem spanks it! It truly is all that an more. July here has been hot hot hot with sultry humidity. Al most ‘Body Heat’ weather though not as sexy as the San Anita Winds of the 1981 movie.
As the song goes, ‘Nothing could be finer then to be in Carolina’, unless of course a neighbour has a pool, Fun, I bet.
I, like saymber, was not familiar with Pimms. So I clicked me goo-googler and gaw-goggled Pimms. Got it. And found this, ‘Whatever the weather share a Pimm’s together! Head down to @HarvesterUK for an evening tipple’. I must say Mr S is an artful mixologist. If the two of you decide to run away from home to open a beach bar on some Caribbean island let me know, I’ll stop by for a Pimms.

August 2026!
I love your replies and cannot imagine what was going on that I missed this one.
This summer has been even warmer and worryingly so but the neighbour’s pool is still inviting though I don’t swim, I watch the others and just hang my feet in.
Hope all is well with you. Haven’t heard from you in a while. 🙂

That was 10 years ago, and feels like a distant galaxy. I bought a place in November 2016 in Nova Scotia but did not move here full time till five years ago. Same country different province, a Bluenoser as they say or a Comefromafar .

Really glad to hear back from you. Yes, 10 years! I like WordPress’s looking back feature – that was how I realised I hadn’t replied to you all that time ago.
I hope you are well and happy in your ‘new’ home. Here in Cornwall, someone from out of county is an ‘incomer’ . I like your ‘Comefromafar’ better.
Do you still blog?
All the best to you. 🙂

No I don’t blog, I gave it up ten years ago or more. Still do photography, and I have gotten back to my fine art roots. I bought a second property on the ocean as a seasonal rental just down the shore from me. Am just fine living off the beaten path (well not when the tourists come from a far).
