Hailstones and Hearts

04 Mar

What a strange day for weather! One moment there was a crazy hail shower on my mac hood and then the next, the Spring sun welcomingly warm on my back. Some hailstones became caught in a spider’s web on my monkey planter.

It is St Piran’s Day tomorrow and the shops are decking themselves out for the occasion. Here is a daffodil heart in the florist’s window.

We bought a willow heart on Valentine’s Day from Trelissick  Art Gallery and it is sprouting.

Love the daffodil heart. Your post prompted me to investigate who St. Piran was. Very interesting story indeed. 🙂

We are hoping for a dry day tomorrow for the parade and the fun. The day is celebrated all over Cornwall – every town has its own way of doing things.https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/St_Piran%27s_Day
I hope to get out in Redruth with my camera tomorrow. Very glad you were inspired to find out about St Piran. 🙂

Is that willow heart growing? Awesome! A few years ago I saw a story on a guy who grows chairs. It was astonishing. Rows of shaped, living trunks following a chair template. Wickedly expensive, but I’d still love to own one.

It is and as it grows we have instructions on how to shape it to our taste. Growing chairs! What a wonderful idea! I shall have to look them up. 🙂
