1 As the aeroplane flew towards the dawn we caught just one shot through the tiny window.

2 That was followed by seeing the most beautiful full moon.

3 And now we are home after our brilliant adventures around New England! Seeing Truro Cathedral from the train always meant that I was almost home and my Mum and Dad would always be at the station ready to take me, not home but to the sea, usually at Perranporth so that we could walk on the sands together, hear the waves and catch up on each other’s lives over the last term… Lovely memories!

The shot of the moon was my favorite – breathtakingly beautiful. Gave her the mystery and majesty she truly possesses, if only by allowing her that ethereal veil. Lovely. Amy

Thank you. It was such a surprise to see the full moon as the plane veered round and I had onle a moment to get the photo so was really pleased with it. Thank you for your lovely comment. 🙂

Sounds like you had a smooth trip back. I love to see the “dawn line” from the plane too, everyone is usually asleep so I have to sneak up the blind to watch. I always stand in the train corridor for that first glimpse of Truro cathedral and some family member waiting there on the platform for me. Next year.

I enjoyed your pictorials of New England. I didn’t comment on all the posts but browsed them all. They are interesting states to visit. Being elongated and angling inward into North America, where here in Canada the Providences have carved out in chunks -the New England states change from more urban near the ocean and more rural inward (which makes for easy travel by Car).
Because am weird (not really) it is these last images of flying over the Atlantic which stir me. Flying over water especially the Atlantic always sends a chill of excitement through me. A vast, beautiful blue black greyish nothingness, eerie and memorizing at the same time. Have you ever read ‘the Atlantic’ by Simon Winchester – he writes a great section early on in the book about flying over the Atlantic.
