Breakfast with friends followed by pretty painful but wonderful steroid injections in my ankles – wonderful because, if they work like previous ones, I should be pain-free for the next 4-6 months! The staff at St Michael’s in Hayle are so lovely, kind and caring. 
After that, and walking on air, I have just been a part of my choir’s first concert for Christmas which was brilliant. I was too busy singing to take photos. I’ll hope to add photos from others later.
I spent much of the morning at St Michael’s Hospital in Hayle where I have had steroid injections in both ankles to combat the arthritic pain. The injections are uncomfortable to have done but give me relief for about 6 months so are very well worth it. The staff are wonderful – kind and understanding, friendly, efficient and can’t do enough to make the patients feel good about their treatment. In this photo, with prepared ankles, I am about to go down to the operating theatre where the injections are done with x-ray guidance, Thank you to everyone especially Simon who allowed me to squeeze his hand very tightly. He said he was a rugby player and could stand any pain I inflicted! Tea and Toast afterwards were greatly appreciated too!
Two days resting and being sensible and then back to life as I love it – and pain free!
1 The Dinosaur cakes (see yesterday) arrived before the Grandkids went to school and the photos KJ sent show their complete delight! We posted the cakes in Redruth, Cornwall yesterday at 3.15pm and they arrived in London before 8.30 this morning and were completely undamaged with the icing still intact! Now that is brilliant service!

3 It was good to see so many at tonight’s meeting about the possible closure of St Michael’s Hospital in Hayle which will be my preferred place of treatment if I do have to have a hip replacement in the next few months. Our Labour Parliamentary candidate, Michael Foster, had called the meeting and together we came up with lots of ideas for how to make our very strong feelings known to the people who will make the decision early next year.
