Squirrel, Earrings and Redruth Wassail

Our squirrel came to investigate his feeder for the first time this morning (photo taken through the window on a very long zoom). We have since propped it open a little to help him as he didn’t manage to get any peanuts this morning.

I found some delightful Angel earrings today for our choir zoom parties next week.

It was such an unexpected  joy to come across the Redruth Wassailers singing The Redruth Wassail in the market this morning. Here is a snippet for you.

The Daily Mile, The Flying Scotsman and Treasures

We were waiting to see The Flying Scotsman going by outside our local Infant School when I noticed this plaque and the track. Brilliant stuff!

The Daily Mile

This is the first time that The Flying Scotsman has come into Cornwall and people turned out all along the track, despite the wind and the rain, to catch a glimpse. Click on any photo for a bigger version and the captions.

After seeing the train go by, I went to our Monthly Market where I found some real treasures, listened to a local choir The Red River Singers (and joined in!) and learned a song from Zimbabwe with a local music teacher and therapist.

Flowers, Bubbles and Singers

It was the 2nd Redruth Monthly Street Market today and once again, it was full of colour and fun, stalls and singers. The hanging baskets around our town are looking gorgeous.

On the Clock Tower, on the corner of Market Way

The Buttermarket was hung with bunting, someone was blowing bubbles, people sat around drinking coffees and cold drinks …….

Bubbles and Bunting

………. and listening to The Red River Singers singing Cornish songs and shanties. A lovely happy morning was had by all. I love our little town!

Rehearsals in St Euny Churchyard

It is less than two weeks to the start of our production of ‘Until the Day Break’!  Today was a choir rehearsal with The Ingleheart Singers and The Red River Singers for the whole route, planning who should sing where – very exciting! There were small character rehearsals going on too so here is a gallery to give you a flavour of our beautiful afternoon. Click on any photo for more detail.
