Marmalade Cat, Daffodils and A Poem

When we visited friends yesterday we were delighted to meet with their beautiful cat again, grown and gorgeous. He reminds me of Orlando the Marmalade Cat whose stories entranced me as a child.Click here  to see him as a kitten.

I just love having Cornish daffodils in the house all the time in these cold, dark months.

We have a new gallery in town called 89 Redruth. We popped in at the weekend to see the new exhibition. We didn’t buy anything this time but near some lovely clay pieces was the following poem which I like very much. May you all, Dear Readers, have the ‘invisible cloak’ of love to keep you safe.

Feast, Fire and The Lottie Cat

What a lovely productive couple of hours at the allotment this afternoon, clearing so much rubbish, catching up with each other in the safety of the great outdoors and sharing a feast.

All the rubbish disappeared into the fire pit.

The Lottie cat, he who has no name, turned up for a stroke. He reminds me of some stories I loved as child, Orlando, the Marmalade Cat, who had such splendid adventures.

Full Moon, Coffee Shop Cat and Crops

Tonight is the Buck Full Moon but as tonight is expected to be cloudy and last night was clear, I took the photo of the wonderfully big full moon.

We stopped at our favourite coffee shop, Home Ground, this afternoon and were joined by Charlie, the Coffee Shop Cat, a very self assured individual. He reminds me of Orlando the Marmalade Cat, a favourite storybook from my childhood.

After town, we dropped into the allotment to collect the veg for our vegetable curry this evening. But for the courgette , tonight’s blog is almost colour co-ordinated!

Suffragette Songs, A View and A Marmalade Cat

We were practising Ethel Smythe’s Suffragette anthem, “March of the Women” this morning and Claire had moved on from our part to the sopranos so I went on to the balcony to take photos of our beautiful view. (See below.) Just under the balcony were pots of purple flowers in small green planters, serendipitously the colours of the Suffragettes, purple, white and green.

The view, as always, was stunning.

This afternoon, the lovely Mr S and I went to the garden centre to try to find some Runner Bean plants. This beautiful Marmalade Cat was lounging on the counter reminding me of Orlando, the Marmalade Cat, a delightful story book from my childhood and written by Kathleen Hale,  Anyone else remember Orlando?
