I have spent the whole day in the garden, sitting in the shade within hearing of the fountain, reading. I can’t remember when I last indulged myself like this! I looked up occasionally and watched butterflies, saw the Blue Tit family (who lived in our lighthouse) come to the feeders along with the Goldfinches and others, heard the constant buzzing of busy insects and revelled in the perfume from the Heliotrope, the Jasmine and the Sweet Peas. Our garden has never been quite as prolific. Click on the smaller photos for a bigger view.

Resting, Reading and Knitting
Now it’s me under the weather so it has been another quiet day. We have recently discovered Mick Herron’s spy novels and are loving them! I’m onto the third in the series, ‘Real Tigers’, having read ‘Slow Horses’ and ‘Dead Lions’ on holiday.
I’ve made a start on knitting Snow Dog for Christmas for LiveWire B by special request. One ear, a tiny stripy sock is done and the body.
