Falmouth, Dracaena Palm and Knitting

1   Falmouth from the water is another place! It’s lovely to see the world passing by and to see the prettily painted houses up the side of the hill. Click on any photo for detail.

2   We have been in this house for more than six years and this is the first year that the Dracaena Palm in the front garden is going to flower.

3   A friend who knows me well sent this little poster today. Knitting meter after meter for Wool Against Weapons as well as small things for the Grandchildren means that this is truer than ever!

Housework or knitting? It’s a no brainer!

Thank you to Julia Marsh for these beautiful knitted cottages.

Roe Deer, Ice-cream and Sunset

1   We had a delightful visitor in the field behind our garden this morning – a female Roe Deer. She watched us for a while and then went across the field and up through the hedge to the cricket ground……  We have lived in this house for more than six years and have never seen a deer in the field before – a very rare treat!

2   I had lunch with a good friend today and then went for a walk round Castle Drive to see the bluebells and treated myself to an ice-cream!

3   Another Knit and Natter Night tonight and another piece finished by M. As we knitted for peace we were able to watch a beautiful sunset.

Knitting for Peace, Poppy and Cloud

1    I finished my sixth piece for Wool Against Weapons yesterday so went to buy some more wool today.  Barbara, the owner of my favourite wool shop, Knitcraft Wool Shop, in Pool, near Redruth, had been busy knitting and gave me her contribution in a beautifully soft yarn that will make a lovely comforting blanket after the protest. Thank you so much! I’ve chosen the same soft yarn in a multi-colour pink for my next piece.

Purple, Pink and Knit ‘n’ Natter Night

1   Between our house and next door there is a rampant vine that has the most beautiful and very small purple flowers. My lovely neighbour, S, tells me that it is Akeba Quinata.

2   A very pretty pink flower has arrived in  the wall with the Muscari and the Tete a Tete but I cannot remember what I planted! Any help out there?

3   We held our first Knit and Natter Night this evening, each of us intent on knitting at least one piece for the Wool Against Weapons event.
