Relief, Ceramic Mural and Uniform

18 Sep

The last three days have been a whirlwind of appointments and tests and all is now well. It seems I have had a TIA, a minor stroke that has no lasting effect and is why I had to miss singing yesterday. The NHS have been wonderful from Specsavers on Wednesday afternoon, the GP on Thursday morning and the Consultant this afternoon.  I can’t believe the speed with which I’ve been seen  and looked after. It’s been a bit scary but I now have medication that should stop any recurrence. However I can’t drive for 28 days as ,despite meds, the next month is a bit iffy. My lovely Mr S is happy to drive me around and friends have offered lifts . All will be well.

On the wall in the hospital entrance is a remarkable piece of ceramic art, ‘Custom House Quay’ by Peter Wright.

For a treat afterwards we went to the bookshop where I found three books to buy and then to Fat Face where I found a sweatshirt which really ought to become the uniform for those of us who volunteer at Roots!

If it weren’t pink, I would have bought one there and then! 🙂

I am. I was truly amazed by how quickly everything happened. I said this to the consultant and she said they are finding if they respond very quickly to a suspected TIA, they stop many people having a stroke and so everyone is happier and the NHS and the individual are saved months of treatment. Everything certainly worked well for me. Thank you for your concern. 🙂
