It’s Tuesday, it’s Roots day. I helped to harvest squash and chillies today.
Yesterday I picked the last Gladiolus and brought it home, all in bud. Now in the warmth of the kitchen it has bloomed.
Look how pretty the slice of pear is.

Stunning, Sally.
Your onion planting endeavor from a while back inspired me to grow a load of onions this year. I have them in numerous beds all over the garden! Red Creole, Australian Brown and a large white (forget the name) .
Hoping for a real bumper crop in a couple of months. Enough for the year and to share!

Very glad our work at Roots inspired you. That’s a good variety of onions you have planted. WE find the whites and browns do better than the reds but we keep trying – in the lottie that is. Our reds don’t keep so well which is a disappointment. Good luck with yours. 🙂

I think onion performance has to with what they call long day or short day varieties. Terms I had not encountered until last season.
Some are already beginning to bolt, so they will be lifted early and used rather than stored.
I hope we get a really good crop. Come harvest time I will try to remember you post a few photos.
