Calendar, Corn and A Cake

01 Sep

It’s September already and here is this month’s Happiness Calendar for you all.

For lunch today we had just harvested home-grown corn-on-the-cob, very simply with a little salt and butter.

It was the birthday party of our lovely neighbour today and everyone contributed to a potluck birthday tea. I made a Lime and Ginger Cheesecake and decorated it with calendula flowers and beautiful blue borage flowers. You can find the recipe here.

Sounds like a fun time. I love corn on the cob and the cheesecake looks delicious.

Both were very tasty. I love decorating cakes with edible flowers, they always look so pretty. 🙂

They were. We have a few more corn cobs and I’m wondering whether to freeze a couple for the winter to try to recall the odd summer day. 🙂

I sent the recipe to Emily. Maybe I will be lucky enough and she’ll make one.

I hope so but I bet you could make it yourself – it’s really easy. I do use the Kenwood mixer to mix the cheeses though as my wrists aren’t strong enough. 🙂 🙂

Ist day of spring down here. I will be planting corn this month!
I forgot ask, were the rasberries grown near you or bought?

They were grown in the fruit cage on our allotment. We are very pleased with the crop. Hope your corn does well. Happy first day of Spring! 🙂
