Baby Seagull, Soup and Cake

29 Jul

The weather is gorgeous and our neighbour invited us for a swim. I didn’t dip but enjoyed the company and the shade and watching the baby seagull which fledged yesterday.

Thanks, Sue, for the photo.

We have so many courgettes growing at the allotment! Today I have made two pints of courgette soup, (using my Dear friend Kath’s recipe, Kath to whom my blog is dedicated) made a Courgette and Lemon Cake and given eight to the neighbour with the pool!

Two raspberries picked today and served with the Courgette Cake

The cake looks like it is topped with a baby seagull, in other words, an egg 🙂

Have you ever had raspberry fungi? It’s my new fav from my neighbour’s kitchen. Yes my neighbour, Momma Eagle, feeds me.

Even as babies seagulls are annoying-ish.

I haven’t. Does it taste of raspberry? How do you cook it if you do? 😊Agreed about seagulls baby or grown up especially when they dump on you from a height as they did on my brother last week.

Love the seagull. What a treat.
If it isn’t too much to ask would you be able to share the recipes for the courgette soup and the lemon and courgette cake?

Here’s the cake recipe https://britishchefstable.com/mary-berry-lemon-courgette-cake/ I haven’t had time to make it and take photos as I usually do and anyway, this one isn’t mine! It’s Mary Berry’s and is excellent. I hope you enjoy it. 🙂

            Thank you so much, Sally.
Be a while before we have a go as I only planted Courgette seeds two days ago.
But I shall keep you posted.
            😊
