Primroses and The Best Music!

05 Feb

It is so lovely to see the primroses coming out in our front garden. They are my absolute favourites.

My brother, SIL and the lovely Mr S always say,”We had the best music!” and here is the proof.

Looking over the list there are a couple I have seen:
Saw Tom Jones perform at an RAF base in ’68 in South Wales.
Mick Jagger & Keith Richard’s. Saw the Stones twice. The first was at the Kings Hall in Manchester in 1973. The second time was on their Voodoo Lounge tour. I took the kids!
Andy Summer. Police guitarist. Last gig I went to in ‘ 79 before leaving England for South Africa.
George Benson. Emily and I saw him with Al Jarreau at Carnival City here in Johannesburg. I will never forget those two opening chords of Give me the night. The audience went bonkers!
Brian May. Saw him with Queen at Sun City.
Santana: Saw Carlos and his band here. Emily and I scored two tickets after she was asked to bake a birthday cake for someone in the band.

Sorry for delay in replying. That’s some list of those you’ve seen! I saw the Beatles before they were famous in a little venue above the Co-op, Freddie and the Dreamers came to the same venue. We’ve seen the Stones a few times, all wonderful gigs, also took our eldest to one of their gigs. It’s good to enjoy the same music as the next generation isn’t it? We saw Brian May at the Quenn’s jubilee where he played on the roof of Buick House. I love Santana and am very envious of that gig. Emily must have been delighted to be asked to make a cake for one of the band. We really did have the best music! 🙂

Being able to say, “I saw the Beatles” is a memory to treasure for all time.
I only wish I could say the same thing about Jimi Hendrix.

When we got the call to make the cake we initially thought it was a joke.
The cake was brought out on stage between songs and the entire audience sang Happy Birthday!
        Definitely a moment to remember!
