A Rose, Laburnum and A Fascinating Fact

29 May

Other people’s gardens are full of colour too. There is a rose down the road that looks like a big scoop of raspberry ripple ice cream.

The Laburnum tree on the corner is gloriously yellow (but is poisonous 🙁

I learned a fascinating fact today about Forget-me-nots. Their tiny flowers are a lovely blue and their centres are yellow – but once pollinated and all the nectar has gone, the yellow fades to white and the bees know not to waste their energy on those but to choose the ones still with yellow centres.

I really hope that’s true. I have checked it and found it several times…….

What a delightful name for a lovely flower. Six months of such loveliness- I think we should be seeking one out for our garden. Hope you are enjoying sunshiny weather as we are. With love, Sally xx

Cornwall is looking very beautiful right now with the days and days of sunshine and blue skies we are having. The gardeners and allotmenteers among us are longing for some rain as our hosepipe ban moves into its 13th month. It’s hard keeping the allotment going just with watering cans! All the best to you 🙂

We do not have a hose pipe ban anymore, I can imagine how difficult it is. We do have 6 Waterbuds to be filled again too. We do hope for rain too.
