Last Night’s Moon, Wedding Wheel and Corn

24 May

Loved last night’s newish moon with Venus in a lovely clear sky.

We visited a nursery today to buy begonias and saw the florist decorating an old wheel with pampas grass, honesty, teazles and greenery ready for a wedding at the weekend.

The colourful corn was being woven ready for being added later.

Is it OK to eat Indian corn?

Yes, you can eat Indian (or Flint) Corn! You can harvest and grind the colorful corn into flour and use it as popcorn. It’s not “sweet” like sweet corn.

Thank you for this, Nancy. We grow sweetcorn successfully so I think we’ll try to grow some Indian corn too if I can find the seeds. May be too late for this year but I will look. 🙂

I would love to see how the nursery used the wheel/decor at the wedding event!

So would I! They may post pictures….. If they do, I’ll ask to put one on here. 🙂

I’ve never seen such pretty corn and have only grown the yellow eatable one. Not sure if these are safe to eat? 🙂
