Angels for Ukraine and A Sad Story + Update

22 Oct

I finished my first two angels today and the next two are ready for soldering.

Tonight there is a gig that we wanted to go to, Angeline Morrison with her set, The Sorrow Songs, see the poster below. We really wanted to go but missed out on tickets. Today, I stupidly replied to someone on Facebook who said she had tickets she couldn’t now use and to message her. I did. I transferred money. She didn’t send tickets.  I realised I had been cheated. After almost an hour talking to the fraud people at the bank, they have assured me that my account is safe. They decided to refund me which astonished and pleased me as it was entirely my own fault. Big lesson learned today. Not everyone is kind or honest.

To make up for missing that, we are going to watch my all time favourite film which Daughter No 1 bought for me last Christmas.

UPDATE:  The wonderful people at The Redruth Drapery, hearing of our plight, invited us down, saying they could squeeze us in. Angeline Morrison is as brilliant as we had hoped, her story telling and her song writing all in her gorgeous voice made for a very special evening after a really horrid afternoon.

I’m glad that you were able to attend the concert. That’s a fun finish to a not so fun experience.

So sorry you had to experience such a negative side of human behavior, but very glad it ended up turning out positively!

Glad you had a happy ending. It’s an awful feeling when you realise you have been duped. Happened to me last year and I am pretty savvy with IT – made me feel sick to the stomach.

Thank you Jude. I consider myself pretty savvy too but was too keen to get the tickets and now I look back can see I ignored a red flag or two. Yes, it does make you feel sick to your stomach.

Sadly there are dishonest people around and we are just too kind to think of the good in every person. We do learn though.

Thank you Ute. It never occurred to me that it wasn’t a proper transaction. However, the story ends well – The Redruth Drapery, hearing of our plight got in touch at about 9pm and invited us down. We are only a very short walk away so down we went and Angeline Morrison was as wonderful as we had hoped. 🙂
