A Rose, Some Curls and A Sunbeam

11 Mar

One of the roses from my bouquet is a glorious dusky pink.

We needed some Banana Shallots for the allotment so went to the garden centre today. We found some and on the way out, my eye was caught by this plant, the name of which I didn’t find.

It’s been a day of heavy hail showers and bright sunny patches. I caught the Spring border in a sunny moment.

It could be a narrow-leaf yucca (Yucca angustissima). They volunteer in our yard and always have those lose hairy bits swirling around inside the spines.

I’d never seen one before. I like it. You are lucky to have them ‘volunteering ‘ in your yard! 🙂

The plant is some kind of Yucca. Unusual. Your spring border and the trellis looks lovely. Beautiful colour with the narcissi.

Thank you for the id. It was rather attractive but I left it behind. I’ve made a resolution that we must go to the garden centre to buy the thing we go for not the things that take our fancy but we don’t know where they will go! It is proving difficult! 🙂

It is far too easy to be seduced by plants. I always come away with something. BTW have you used the Trevena Cross nursery?

Yes, we were there yesterday after our other business. We nearly came home with a cherry tree! 🙂
