As it’s Mothers’ Day, the lovely Mr S made me a special breakfast, the ‘children’ all being unable to be here. The raspberries were homegrown, the blackberries picked in the nearby lane and have all been in the freezer. They were especially delicious.

Several years ago Daughter No 2 sent me a rainbow maker for Mother’s Day. Today it was throwing rainbows into our downstairs loo and onto the delightful painting that we have in there, a present from friends in the North when we left to come home 12 years ago.
