The view over the Carrick Roads from Trelissick is one of our all time favourites even on a grey day.
Spring flowers are emerging in ones and twos.
As I walked around the paths there was the most delicious scent and I tracked it down to the tiny blossoms on the evergreen Sarcococca. We tried to grow this once having smelled its glorious perfume in the garden of friends in Ruthin, Wales but it died and we don’t know why.

On a mild day our Sarcococa fills the whole back garden with its rich scent. Beautiful. I love seeing the white flowers with old shining black berries together on each stem.

Oh, thank you! I wasn’t sure that the beautiful glossy berries were from the same plant. I though maybe something else was growing through the Sarcococca. Next time I visit I will be sure to get a photo of flowers and berries together. We must try again with this delightful shrub. 🙂
