What is Wheal Uny? The Purple Vetch is absolutely magnificent.

Wheal is the term used for a tin mine like Wheal Maid, Wheal Coates and Wheal Clifford. But they don’t all start Wheal. There’s also South Crofty, Dolcoath and many, many more. 🙂
