Roots, Beach and Bubbles

22 Oct

There were lots of gaudy orange fungi  on the paths between the beetroots today, not sure what they are. I’ve looked here but not managed to id them.  It’s good to see some veggies almost ready to eat and other tiny ones being planted out in the poly tunnel.

We went to Porthtowan at low tide this afternoon for my lovely Mr S to have a walk in the restorative sea air.

Porthtowan beach

Just see the rainbows in this sea foam that came in on every wave as the sun came out and the tide turned.

    Could be a Golden Waxcap.
Is the polytunnel a communal venture or is it yours, Sally?
Pleased to hear your better half is up and about. Hope full recovery is swift and he is chasing you up the garden path in no time. And if you go slowly he will catch you?

Thank you for the id. I did wonder as I looked through all the fungi on that site.
The poly tunnel is part of Community Roots where we volunteer every Tuesday helping to grow veg for the community.
I think he might if I were to slow down just a tad! 🙂

Excellent idea, growing veg for the community.
The ‘tons of onions’ you inspired me to grow are coming along nicely.
I should probably harvest a few hundred if all goes to plan.
Not enough for the community but my closest neighbours will be pleasently surprised.
        😊
