Walk, Flower and A Gift

08 Aug

What joy! We met Daughter No 3 and family at St Agnes Head this morning for a very windy walk. They are with us just for the day from their holiday in Devon.  LiveWire No 4 ran off down the path in the wind.

We spent some of the afternoon harvesting beans at the allotment and B picked a daisy which she later popped into the hedge along the lane as a “lovely surprise for someone to find!”

Our lovely LiveWire had made me some Rose Petal Perfume and bottled it beautifully. Some blogger friends and I were just talking recently about doing just that when we were much the same age so it was especially sweet.

We’ve had a really lovely day but when they leave I feel bereft. Covid has made visits even fewer and briefer.

So many lovely things from your day. I understand the sadness afterwards. I try to make the most of what time I get with our family but it’s equally hard not to be mindful of what we are all missing.

Most of the time we just get on and talk on the phone, video calls etc and we manage. Actually having them here makes it so clear what we are all missing and it is very hard to see them go and not know when we’ll get together again. Thank you for your understanding. 🙂

Covid sucks. Period. Its a strain, but slowly things are turn to some normalcy.

Yes, it does. We have seen this family only twice in two years, likewise the family from London and the LiveWires in Barcelona are growing up to think we live in their laptop! At least none of us have caught it and all the family are still with us. Not everyone we know has been so lucky.

The scrafices people made have been high, and probably degrademental to mental well being. I could not see my brother before he died of a rare form of cancer. I could not see the princess of my castle for almost two months as she recouped in hospital from a brain aneurysm that burst. But we do what we must don’t we! Covid or not.

I am so sorry to hear about your not being able to see people so precious to you. I hope your Princess is properly recovered and that you can be together again and I send my condolences about losing your brother. It has been such a terrible time for so many. Let’s hope the vaccinations will be shared around the world and that the disease will become less of a threat to us all. Sending love your way.

Let us hope. But quite frankly am not optimistic.I started out optimistic but I am seeing the momentum laud.

What lovely flowery hills leading down to the sea.

They just get better. It was such a grey windy day but the colours bounced out. 🙂

The colours seem to get brighter each time we go. 🙂

The second image is a wonderful composition, Sally.
Enhance the colours a bit and it will be fit for a frame and a wall!

Thank you. I did love how B’s dress picked up the purple of the heather and loved the movement in her against the background. It was a lucky catch as she raced away from us down the path. 🙂
