The Big Picture, Long-Tails and Sally-boots

13 Aug

In this week’s copy of The Big Issue there was an amazing photograph of two Praying mantises that had won the annual Glanzlichter photo contest.

We had Long-tail Tits in the garden today – my favourite little birds.

A friend of ours recently had a baby boy so I have made him a pair of Sally-boots as I make for all new babies, as my welcome to the world.

    Hi Sally
I always make a pair of baby bootees and a beanie hat for friends/relatives having babies. They always love them and I love knitting them
    Love Judith xx

I love the rainbow bootees 💜 But where does the name ‘Sally-boots’ come from? I haven’t heard that before.

The people I have given them to over the last 40 years have named them thus! 🙂

I love giving babies bright colours right from the start! Thank you for calling in and taking the time to comment. 🙂
