Mosaic, Sun-bathing and A Pie

16 Nov

There is some pretty new mosaic on the walls near Penryn Wharf where we sing.

Mosaic

We had a lovely warm walk along Cliff Road after a delicious lunch at the Gylly Cafe and watched a Cormorant enjoying the apricity as much as us!

Shag or Cormorant

Tonight’s dinner was a scrumptious pie.

Chicken, Ham and Leek Pie

On our was home from Falmouth this afternoon, I did an amazing emergency stop! There was an horrendous noise from the front right hand side of my beautiful Beetle and I stopped on a sixpence! It turns out that the wish bone had snapped! Dear Reader, you may know what that means – all I knew was that my car was immobile. and the front wheel had fallen off!  Two hours later, it was rescued, taken to our garage, the wonderful Richards Brothers, and they will ring me tomorrow. Thank goodness I was not alone when that happened, just short of a roundabout on a busy road. So many lovely people stopped to see if they could help. The world really is full of kindness, well, Redruth is!

It happens. A broken wishbone, a lost scarf, amidst a sunny seaside walks, with appreciative Cormorant on-the-side, and an oh so fine fancy chicken pot pie extraordinaire. All these parts of your day, together with other gems of your life’s things, melded together much a kin to the laborious mosaic on display at the very top of it all.

As a kid, sometime still do, I enjoyed snapping the dried wishbone of done-like-dinner bird of choice, for a chance to make a wish. I suspect, however, in the case of your beloved Beetle’s wishbone break, not a wish but rather something else was uttered under thy breath. Maybe not, but I would have.

I have a love hate relationship with roundabouts. I can’t imagine the panic of breaking down in a busy one, count your lucky stars.

I’m told the air was a little blue! I can’t remember what I uttered but I don’t think it was under my breath!🙂

I have counted many lucky stars having spent the night with a head full of ‘whatifs ‘, something my Mum warned me against many years ago. But, all is well, no one was hurt, my beautiful car can be mended and made safe again. Thank you for your concern – and, yes, that pot pie was as delicious as it looked.
      The mosaics of life…….. 🙂
