Cape Royal, Angel’s Window and Point Imperial

After catching the golden light of dawn, we set off really early to various viewpoints and walks driving through the Aspen filled forests where a big fire took all the trees and the Quaking Aspens are the first to come back.

The views were amazing and, as is my wont, the little beautiful things caught my eye too – a flame red flower, a bit of torn bark and some spider web thread catching the sunlight, pine needles and Aspen leaves reaching for the bluest of skies.

And the views!

Being so early we were alone in most of these gloriously quiet places, just the wind in the trees, some buzzing and some bird calls- otherwise a silence that felt so good for the soul.

Please forgive my not replying to comments at the moment. I get just a short time at the store to post before returning to our cabin in the woods! 🙂

From Tuba City to The Grand Canyon, North Rim

To tell the truth, I have been so moved by beauty today, my eyes have filled with tears many times. The colours of the rocks, their shapes and structures, the vastness of the plains and the immensity of the cliffs – all contribute to the magic of today. The names of some of the places we have passed by say it all – The Painted Desert, Vermillion Cliffs.  Then, to top it all, we came across a herd of buffalo which pleased the lovely Mr S especially. Those photos are his as is the Navajo Bridge one.

I love Harleys! How I would love to do this trip on one!

Patterns from the shade shelter.

Our soundtrack for today to which we have sung along with gusto has been our Rubydo music, a collection we put together for our 40th Wedding Anniversary nine years ago!
