1 I love uncurling ferns and we now have lots.

2 After six months of many of our precious things being boxed up so that the flooded dining room could be renovated, today I started unwrapping and re-discovering some treasures, among them, this beautiful old rolling pin made of Bristol blue glass which was in my Grandparents’ house.

3 We’ve just come home from seeing a beautiful film which was made in Cornwall -Summer in February. It tells of the real lives of some artists in Cornwall from 1913 and there are some wonderful scenes of Cornwall’s coastline.

My favorite is ruby glass, but it’s hard to find nowadays. Cranberry is close. But that glass rolling pin … do you use it? And are you a good pie maker? Because I make the absolutely WORST pie crust ever. Inedible. But it LOOKS great.

Beautiful isn’t it? As Valerie says too, there is a little cork at one end so that it can be filled with iced water to keep the pastry cold. I’ve never dared use it! It’s too precious. 🙂

It is interesting but I’m told the book is much better so now I have to find that one too. My pile of ‘to read’ is getting rather high! 🙂
