Blue, Yellow and Violet

18 Mar

1   A beautiful, if very cold, morning meant that the sea on the horizon was very clear and very blue.

2   Some people regard Dandelions as weeds. I think they are glorious sunbursts of colour and I love them.

Absolutely gorgeous

3   Just look at the veining on these lovely violet garlic bulbs.

I love the colour of the dandelion. The garlic made me almost able to smell it. I love how you show such intimate pictures of things other people would take for granted, but show them with such a flourish of life about them.

They are very useful and good for one’s health. I reassure myself sometimes by saying oh, well, I can always eat dandelions.

Dandelions are much more than the pesky weeds they are made out to be…however….yesterday I had to cut my lawn because so many of them had grown so tall they made my lawn a bit of a eye sore in the neighborhood lol. If I pulled them all I wouldn’t have much for a lawn. I like watching them be food for the pollinators (especially bees and butterflies). http://www.altnature.com/gallery/Dandelion.htm

Beautiful photos! I love the dandelion. Ours are not up yet, but when they are, we will eat the greens in salads.

Lovely pictures, as always, and I am totally in agreement with you on dandelions. Beautiful flowers! (and the name is gorgeous too!)

Much nicer the the name the French have for this beautiful flower – Pis-en-lit, which, as the leaves aresaid to be diuretic, is probably a good name! 🙂

I spend many a Saturday morning digging up dandelions as a child. 🙁
But if I dug enough I had money for the afternoon matinee. 🙂

They really are beautiful wild flowers.

We used to get paid a penny a head too. My brothers picked many more than I did. 🙂

I love dandelions and I see them as wild flowers not weeds!!!!! And the leaves are so healthy for you and great in salad.

Gorgeous! And I totally agree with you on dandelions – they grow freely wherever they wish in my yard…. When I was growing up, we even used them in salads occasionally …
