Letter to Father Christmas, Baking and Chocolate Pennies

22 Dec

1   Clearing out Mum’s desk for the polishing the other day, I found this letter destined for Father Christmas circa 1982. I can’t imagine why it wasn’t burnt with the others so that the message could go up in smoke to Father Christmas. Like my parents before us, we always added a bit of salt to the folded letter to ensure it burned with a blue flame. Then it would come true!

2    Sausage rolls always disappear fast once the family arrive. This is the first batch – more tomorrow.

First batch of sausage rolls

First batch of sausage rolls

3    We all love the chocolate pennies which appear at Christmas.

Tangerines and golden pennies

The first four of the family are arriving tomorrow. If I don’t manage to blog over the next few days, I hope you all have a Happy and a Peaceful Christmas.

What a lovely find – how old would the wee one have been then? The things that wee girls want doesn’t really change all that much over the years! I remember clearly wishing for eyeshadow when I was about 9!! And my daddy, bless him, secretly bought me some and told me it was our secret!!

I love finding old notes or cards…A Christmas List seems appropriate to be found at this time of year
    …We make sausage balls…
    Ground sausage
    Sharp shredded cheese
    Bisquick
Just mix together and form balls…bake for about 20 minutes…Yours really look good with the roll …
and Gold coins are Christmas for sure…Enjoy your Holidays…

Thank you for your lovely comments and that recipe that sounds tasty but I don’t know what Bisquick is? Is it something like breadcrumbs?

Happy holidays to you too 🙂
