Grandbabies, Lucy and Hugh Fearnley Whittingstall

1  Delighted chuckles of Jake and Tabitha playing on the blown up bed as it was deflated this morning.

2  Lucy’s stories of her trek up to Everest Base Camp.

3  KJ made Hugh Fearnley Whittingstall’s Meat Loaf for supper and it was delicious.

Paolo Nutini, Flowers in a Boat and Traveller Returns

1. Listening to Paolo Nutini on the journey up to London and these words stayed in my mind: “If you love the life you live, you’ll get a lot more done.”

Paolo Nutini

2. On Saltash Station there’s an old rowing boat full of Spring flowers, quite delightful.

3  Lucy has landed! Home from the trek up to Everset Base Camp.

I can’t work out how to put up photos from my iPad so they’ll all have to wait until we get home.

Trelissick, Raymond Blanc and Skype 28th Jan 2012

1  We went to Trelissick this afternoon, compensation  for missing a Penzance outing this morning as we were helping Lucy get ready for her trek training on Dartmoor.

2  I love this quotation – “I like a chef who smiles out loud when he tastes his own food” and was reminded of it when I heard Raymond Blanc talking on Radio 4 this evening. What a lovely man he is!

3  Skype with KJ and the Grandbabies – always a delight.
