A Drive, Leaves and Water

Lots of our journeys here in West Cornwall go through tunnels of trees and the drive  to Penryn is just glorious at the moment. The colours are gorgeous – orange and yellow, umber and gold, brown and khaki. Even when there is no sunshine, as today, there is a glow to the lanes cast by the light coming through the leaves. The whole journey for a couple of weeks is magical.

Walking along the street later the floor was covered in fallen Oak leaves, all beautifully brown and crisp.

At the ship yard in Penryn, as I waited for the lovely Mr S to sort out something on the boat, I was watching the river and the reflection of the masts in the water.

Pac Man, Jewels and Another Red Leaf

The LiveWires were delighted to see a Pac Man in my coffee!

Pac Man in my coffee

The multitude of Autumn leaves on the ground had the colours of jewels.

The veining on this leaf was especially beautiful.

Autumn Sunshine in the Garden

It has been the most glorious Autumn day and I have been sitting outside for hours as I have finished off two outfits for our twin Grandbabies due in January. These cardigans have  mother-of-pearl buttons from my Grandfather, the Great Great Grandfather of these babies, as have all the things I have knitted for any of the Live Wires.

They each have little labels in that say,’Handmade with love especially for you.’

Live Wire T left us her butterfly hanging from my monkey planter and the wind had wound them up in a rather pleasing pattern.

Glorious Autumn colours against a cerulean sky!

Happy Hallowe’en everyone.
