Benjamin Zephaniah

07 Dec

So sad to hear that Benjamin Zephaniah has died and at such a young age. We have loved his work for many years, even had Breakfast with him once at an event at a Sheffield pub many, many years ago.

Here is a poem so apt for our times called The British…….

and a wonderful recording from YouTube.

Our very old laptop isΒ  poorly and we have bought a new one. Sadly, there is no slot for my camera’s memory card so right now, I can’t add my photos. I will hope to learn how to put my photos here by another method. Any advice very gladly received.

    A sad and shocking day!
As for the camera photos you need to buy a USB SD card reader, they are very cheap.

It’s a MacAir and we’ve solved it today by buying a card reader. It makes me a bit cross that they remove the card reader and the USB ports and then you have to spend another Β£100 to add them to an already very expensive machine. But, hey ho! I can add photos easily again and I’m happy! Thanks for your help and advice. πŸ™‚

Ah, well that’s one reason why I avoid Mac products.

Just what Mr S said but I was brought up on Macs. They were all we had in the school where I taught – and I do love them but, yes , very irritated by the extra expense! πŸ™‚

Such a cool and wondeful poem that brings a smile to one’s face. His legacy is set.

What a wonderful legacy to be leaving behind but how sad for us to to have lost that talent so early.

Deeply sad news about Benjamin Zephaniah. This is one of my favourite songs – Tam Lyn Retold which he performed with with Eliza Carthy: https://open.spotify.com/track/093fKepj0NgBCTwn02vm1n?si=Fc2PLSfdRtalPprMJjCBRw

Thank you so much for the link. So sad to have lost this lovely man so soon. We met him once when we went to have Breakfast with Benjamin , an event where he spoke his poems, talked to each of us, laughed with us all and made each of us feel special. What a loss to the world but what a legacy to leave behind. xx
